Abstract

The metatarsals and tarsals from most of the foot bones found at Sterkfontein by the time of this monograph have been described in an elegant and thorough publication by Deloison (2003). Our descriptions of the metatarsals are, in large part, in accordance with hers, and we point out only where we deviate from her interpretations. Due to the fragmentary nature of most of the Sterkfontein metatarsals, description and interpretation are limited. Appendix I presents member, locus with grid reference, and date of discovery where known of each specimen.
